We are dedicated to protecting children from sexual abuse. Through the findings of our global, evidence-based research, we develop abuse prevention materials and age-appropriate curriculums. Our aim is to educate and empower children, parents, and teachers to prevent sexual abuse from happening.
ONE CHILD IS ONE CHILD TOO MANY
NNECA (National Network to End Child Abuse) believe 90% of child sexual abuse is preventable. More than fifteen years of independent research has provided the foundations of the way NNECA works, which we believe will have a real impact on reducing the numbers of children who are sexually abused. We have listened to victims and their family members, collaborated with agencies and analysed the behaviour and characteristics of abusers.
Our conclusion is that abuse is preventable through better education and awareness, and empowering both children and adults. This is a subject that is uncomfortable to talk about and horrible to hear about but we must do both if we are to make a difference.
